Green Canyon Creek

Green Canyon Creek, (1,770 LF); stream channel re-alignment into the relic stream channel, wetlands and trout habitat enhancement. Sain discovered the stream channel had been relocated back in 1948 during an initial desktop study and explained to the landowner the benefits of full-scale restoration beyond the initial scope. Included a floodplain study using regression models and cross-sectional analysis. The re-alignment will mimic the previously relocated channel, adding 1,770 LF of small stream channel and adjacent floodplain back onto the landscape. Approximately 3,000 of Flathead Creek (also on the property) has been known to hold Yellowstone Cutthroat near the confluence of Green Canyon Creek.
